Injured Workers' Day - June 1st, 2026.

May 26, 2026

Since 1983, injured & ill workers and allies have been gathering on June 1st at Queen’s Park in Toronto to celebrate strength and resilience, and to protect the workers’ compensation system.

Workplace injuries profoundly affect workers, their families and their communities. Injured Workers Day serves as an opportunity for the Province of Ontario to recognize the individuals who have been injured at work or who have suffered injuries because of their workplace conditions. This is a day to bring awareness to issues of workplace injury and the plight of injured workers, and to demonstrate a commitment to workplace injury prevention and remediation.

As you are reading this, the Workers’ Compensation system as a whole is under threat by Bill 105 which is working its way through legislative committees. The bill threatens to end income stability for permanently injured and ill workers. No matter what happens with this piece of legislation, it is more important than ever that we stand together on Injured Workers’ Day.

The Workers’ Health and Safety Legal Clinic is grateful for the continued collaborative efforts of Ontario Network of Injured Workers’ Groups, unions, advocacy and community organizations that every day look to push for safer workplaces and better protections for workers.
